Starting from April, the Championship 2024 WAVE1 Store Qualifiers have been held! I participated in the 20-player (quite rare…) tournament on April 3rd and managed to secure second place with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss, allowing me to advance!
Participating in store qualifiers itself is challenging, so it was incredibly lucky to pass in one go. (There’s a rumor that once you’ve won to participate a spot in a tournament, subsequent draws become less favorable.)
In this blog, I’d like to introduce an overview of the Championship 2024 WAVE1 in Japan and share the deck list I used on the day.

What is Championship 2024 WAVE1 Store Qualifiers?

The ONE PIECE Card Game holds qualifying tournaments throughout the year, culminating in the World Championship to be decided in March 2025.
In each country, the qualifiers are conducted in two waves: WAVE1 and WAVE2. Currently, in Japan, the store qualifiers have been taking place from April 2024 over the course of one month! If you place in the top (1st to 3rd) at a store tournament, you can advance to the area qualifiers.
Achieving a top placement in the area qualifiers across various regions in Japan allows you to proceed to the WAVE1 Finals. The journey is indeed challenging…
